We are looking for a Quality Engineer that will report to the Quality Manager.  This position will use statistical and analytical skills, assist in quality improvements for existing production and engineering processes and new product design.


Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement successful quality improvement programs involving internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Act as key customer quality contact
  • Supports QA Technicians & In-Process inspectors to identify true root cause on issues
  • Assist in identifying process and product improvements.  Apply scientific methods such as SPC, Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE) and correlation/regression analysis to determine required actions.
  • Active participation on Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) teams
  • Leads development of Process Flow Diagramming (PFD), Process Failure Modes & Effect Analysis (PFMEA) and Control plans to customer specific requirements
  • Issues and follows up on internal and external corrective actions. Responsible for successful CAR and problem solving activities. Facilitates 8Ds and 5 Why problem solving methods & groups.
  • Assists in preparation and participates in customer surveys/visits
  • Leads in preparing PPAP submissions and reviewing package prior to sending to the customer
  • Utilizes knowledge of GD&T to support PPAP and production measurements
  • Leads weekly scrap reduction meeting to reduce internal scrap and internal PPM


Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred in engineering, manufacturing technology or plastics
  • 5+ years experience in quality engineering, strong emphasis in statistical process control and AIAG core tools
  • Automotive experience required, injection molding preferred
  • Excellent communication & people skills with the ability to lead & participate in cross-functional work teams
  • Able to work as part of a team and also independently
  • Formal analytical and problem solving skills to determine the root cause of quality problems
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Minitab
